In the above breakdown, I mentioned that this toy was “more than just a novelty” I felt like that had to be a good starting point for this in-depth review because when a toy looks this cute (it’s literally dressed like a penguin wearing a bright pink bowtie), most of the time you assume that it’s not an extremely functional toy. Toys like this are usually bought as gifts when you’re looking for a cute, fun surprise for someone.
This toy is no joke
The first thing I thought when I saw this toy in person was: “oh, look how cute.” And that first reaction is enough to take your expectations down a few notches even if you don’t realize it because we inherently don’t expect cute sex toys to be worthwhile.
But trust me when I say that this toy is powerful and can make you feel things you’ve never felt before. I’ve had a squirting experience in the past, a few times, but with this toy, I know it will happen - it’s become a regular thing synonymous with the use of this toy for me. Quality and user manual are both great.
This toy is made really well, from smooth, safe material and designed to fit comfortably in your hand. It’s easy to clean (with complete instructions in the user manual) and they even give you a variety of different suggestions for lubes to use with the toy.
The toy is waterproof and can be submerged in water up to 1m for no longer than 30 minutes, according to the manual. I’ve found no problems using the toy in the shower and find it really easy to clean.

The packaging around this toy is just simple plastic, which gives off a bit of a cheap vibe to the toy even though that’s not at all the vibe of the action toy itself or the company it comes from. With Tracy’s Dog, for example - that toy is around the same price point but came in a very sleek, discrete, luxurious looking box and the toy itself was placed in nice, soft packaging instead of simple plastic inserts.

“Did you know the warranty for this thing is fifteen years!?” I text my friend, fact-checking multiple reviews and descriptions of this toy. For under $50, you’d think it would come with a warranty of around 12 months or so like many other toys - but Satisfyer is putting their money where their mouth is on this one. You’ll love this toy for a long time, they guarantee it.
Battery life is sufficient and charging is super easy.
Most reviews of this toy explain around 2 hours of charging will get you about 90 minutes of use with this toy, and in my experience during the last 2 months, this is fairly accurate. It seems much longer, though, because much of the time when I use this toy I really only need it for a few minutes (it’s that powerful).
You could use this toy 30 times (if you were using for around 2 minutes each) between charges, which is around what I’ve been averaging.
The price point is amazing given the warranty and how long you’ll use this toy.
Given the price point and warranty of this toy, it’s a bargain if I ever saw one. Not only is this a great, powerful, reliable sex toy that you can get used to incorporating quite seamlessly into your sex life, but it also comes with a very, very long warranty, meaning you will never have to go without it.
A little descriptor on air-pulse technology...
With air-pulse tech being relatively new, I thought I’d touch on what exactly it is. Air-pulse technology is a touch-free stimulation system that works essentially by surrounding your clitoris with a silicone tip that allows pressure waves to hone in on that area. To say this technology is changing the way women experience pleasure is an understatement.
I described the noise level of this toy as medium - loud and I feel good about that. While this toy can be “whisper quiet” as explained in the product description, I found that was only true on the absolute lowest setting. Now, while everyone’s clitoris is different, in order to get the world-rocking that this penguin is capable of, you need to go higher than the first setting.
Settings 1-2
These modes could be described as “whisper quiet”. While each mode is obviously louder if it isn’t in contact with your clitoris, the first two settings are quiet enough to warrant the “whisper quiet” definition even if the power behind them isn’t super great.
Settings 2-5
Settings 2-5 of the air pulse action become quite a bit louder, especially when not properly in place on the clitoris. If they are properly in place, it’s still quite discrete but could be heard if someone was right next to you (and yes, I tested this in bed with my husband one night).
Settings 5+
Anything above the 5th pulse setting starts to get pretty noticeable even when it’s on the correct spot. What I will say, though, is that these higher settings are where the real action is (and by that, in my case, I mean squirting-central) - so it’s well worth it, in my opinion.
Ease of use
I actually have a few points to make under this “ease of use” section.
One of which is that with a slightly different design, this toy would be able to stand up straight on a countertop. If the bottom of the toy was a bit flatter with a tiny bit more weight added to it, you could easily prop it up on a flat surface while you’re getting ready or cleaning it, etc. While I understand that they may not have wanted to make these changes because the toy would then obviously be a bit heavier than it currently is (which is very lightweight), it just seems like such a missed opportunity.
The second ease of use comment I wanted to make was that while the shape of the toy fits nicely into the palm of your hand, it can be a bit awkward to find a position that works (and stays in place), especially if you’re using this with a partner.
One of the better parts of this toy is the simplicity of the charger - a magnetic USD charger that is super easy and low-maintenance, which I love.
Other than those two minor (I’d even go as far as to say ‘personal preference’) notes on the ease of use, this toy is simple and effective.
When it comes to positions with the Satisfyer Penguin, I had to do a bit of troubleshooting. Initially, I used this toy on myself, and everything was fine. I attempted to use it laying down at first and within 30 seconds of use (not joking), I doused my bedsheets. The next time I used the toy, I attempted to use it standing up (to avoid the waterfall on my nice clean sheets) but found that the toy’s power actually made my knees a bit weak (again, not joking).
SOLO - On your knees
So, with a little testing, I found using this toy when you’re on your knees (preferably over a towel because even if you’re not a frequent squirter, you might be with this toy) is the best position for solo use. You have control over the toy but you’re also in a position that’s not too uncomfortable.
WITH A PARTNER - Doggy style
The best “with a partner” position has to be some variation of doggy style. Of course, you’ll need to use one hand to control the position of your toy so for me, what worked best was laying flat on the bed with my hand between my legs to control the toy while he was positioned behind me. Getting the right spot in this position is a bit tricky but once you’re there it feels so, so good.
SOLO - Missionary
The second-place solo position in my opinion has to be the missionary position. This was, as I said, the first position I tried with the toy and despite the need to immediately change my sheets, it was perfect. I was relaxed and comfortable and the toy fits nicely in my hand.

During our trial and error phase of testing this toy together, I realized that it was not at all comfortable wedged between us in any girl-on-top position. This app, in the Google Play Store, has a 4.5 user rating and is described as a sexual joy and wellness app. One of the only comments I see coming up regularly in the feedback section is that the app sometimes is unable to find the device (toy) it’s trying to connect to. Otherwise, many people are saying that this app is fun and useful.
To be honest, I wasn’t aware of this app until researching for this review (after using my penguin for almost 2 months), so I will definitely be checking it out because this looks really cool!
